E-E-A-T

E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trust. It is how Google's raters judge whether content deserves to rank, especially for important topics.

It is not a direct ranking score. The framework covers real authorship, cited sources, accurate claims, and site credibility. Google's systems reward those signals.

The honest version is simple. Say true things, show who said them, and back claims with evidence.

A practical example

An article identifies its author, shows relevant first-hand experience and cites sources for important claims.

A common mistake

Treating E-E-A-T as a numerical score or a schema field to fill in.

How to check it

Review ownership, evidence and review responsibilities, especially where information can affect important decisions.
