What this means
Google does not truncate by character count. It truncates by width, so a title full of wide letters gets cut sooner than one of the same length in narrow letters. Titles are trimmed near 600px and descriptions near 920px on desktop.
A cut title still ranks, but the reader sees a broken phrase instead of your point. Keep the words that earn the click inside the limit, and write the description to read well even if the last sentence is dropped.
