Crawlability

Crawlability is how easily a search engine can reach and read the pages of your site. If a crawler cannot fetch a page, that page cannot rank.

Crawlers follow links and read the response your server returns. Anything that blocks that fetch, a bad robots.txt rule, a server error, or a login wall, hides the page from search.

Crawlability is separate from indexation. A page can be crawlable and still be told not to index. Both have to be right for a page to appear in results.
