Summary

CraftDigitally worked on the SEO of the builder itself. We tested its SEO features, audited live restaurant websites and wrote clear SEO rules for the platform. BiteHeist's developers applied the fixes from our analysis, and we verified each one.

Because the fixes go into the builder, every restaurant on the platform benefits. New restaurant websites launch SEO-ready.

The challenge

A website builder repeats whatever it does across every site it creates. One setting affects hundreds of restaurants at once.

BiteHeist's builder includes many SEO features:

  • Page titles and descriptions
  • Schema markup
  • Google Business Profile import
  • Location pages
  • Security headers
  • Caching
  • Internal links
  • FAQs
  • A redirect manager
  • An SEO check before publishing

BiteHeist wanted every one of these features to work on the live websites Google reads, not just in the dashboard.

What we did

  1. 01

    Tested the builder's SEO features

We tested every SEO feature in BiteHeist's builder against the live websites it produces. We checked what Google actually receives, not just what the dashboard shows. Each feature was either confirmed working or sent to the developers with a clear fix.

  2. 02

Wrote an SEO rulebook for the builder

We created a standard for what every restaurant site must produce when it is published.

    It covers:

    • Page titles and descriptions
    • Headings
    • Schema markup
    • Location pages
    • FAQs
    • Images
    • Google reviews
    • Redirects
    • Error pages

The builder's pre-publish SEO check now has clear rules to enforce.

  3. 03

    Audited live restaurant websites

We audited restaurant websites built on the platform. Each audit covered technical SEO, on-page SEO, speed, schema and local signals. Findings from real sites fed back into the builder, so each fix helps every restaurant.

    Technical SEO
  4. 04

    Reviewed automatically generated pages

The builder can create dish and location pages on its own. We reviewed these pages for quality, uniqueness and search value. We also set guidelines so the builder creates useful pages, not thin or repeated ones.

    Programmatic SEO
  5. 05

Kept test environments out of search

We reviewed how BiteHeist's test environment is handled in search. We set rules so test sites never compete with, or get confused with, real restaurant websites.

  6. 06

Recovered pages after a platform migration

We supported a multi-location restaurant moving to BiteHeist from another platform. We mapped old URLs to the right new pages and wrote specs for the new pages each redirect needed. This protects the rankings the restaurant built before the move.

  7. 07

    Verified every fix

We checked each developer fix at the server level, where Google reads the page. Fixes were tested on the test environment first, then on live sites. Each one was tracked until it passed.

  8. 08

Built local SEO into the platform

Local search drives restaurant orders, so local SEO ran through all of the work:

    • Real location pages with local details
    • FAQs that name the towns and areas each restaurant serves
    • Google Business Profile data reaching the website and schema
    • Consistent name, address and phone details
    • One schema entry for each restaurant location
    Local SEO

What changed

BiteHeist's developers applied the fixes into the builder. Security, schema, redirects, caching, sharing previews and page structure were all improved at the platform level.

New restaurant websites now launch with these improvements built in.

Results

This engagement focuses on the platform's SEO foundation. Verified before-and-after traffic and ranking data is not available yet, so no growth numbers are included.

The scope of the work:

  • Every SEO feature in the builder tested against live output
  • Multiple live restaurant websites audited
  • 32 developer fixes verified
  • 61 old URLs mapped for recovery after a platform move

Why it matters

Fix the builder, not just the page

One fix in the platform helps every restaurant on it.

Check what Google sees

A page can look right in the browser and still be wrong for search.

Automatic pages need rules

An AI builder can create hundreds of pages quickly. Clear rules make sure those pages help rankings.

Keep test sites out of search

Test websites should never compete with the real business in Google.

Build pages before redirecting

A redirect only works when the new page is ready for it.
